New post: Nietzsche and the Centurion

Nietzsche and the Centurion

“Have you not heard of that madman who lit a lantern in the bright morning hours,
ran to the market place, and cried incessantly:
‘I seek God! I seek God'”

Parable Of The Madman, Friedrich Nietzsche

Man with a lantern,
Anachronite by day
Illuminating the noon
With a nothingism.
Carries in his pocket a sponge
To wipe out the horizon.

Man with a lantern,
Anachronite beneath the moon
Illuminating the night
With an epiphany.
Pierced by his spear is a sponge
To wet the mouth
And dry the tears
Of a god wiped from his heaven.
